This dynamic and exclusive three day meeting will encompass a combination of poster presentations together with approximately 20 student presentations (mainly graduate students working in the Consortium) as well as specially selected guest speakers and Principle Investigators of the MAIN Consortium.

The meeting will be able to host 50 students and a group of leaders from the Consortium and is an excellent and unique opportunity to meet other students from the Consortium and network.
The idea is to have a plenary session the first evening by an invited speaker. Sunday and Monday would be covered by lectures given by senior researchers (45 to 60min) and contributions by the students (15 min talks). A trip is planned for Sunday afternoon.

We're delighted to announce that the four distinguished scientists who will be speaking are:

Prof. Fritz Krombach, Local Institute Co-Ordinator in MAIN, Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich (LMU)
Overall goals & achievements: Fritz Krombach

Prof. Timothy Elliot, Cancer Sciences Division, University of
Southampton, UK
Key subject areas: The intracellular assembly of class I MHC molecules and the role of cofactor proteins, The role of antigen glycosylation on processing and presentation, Recognition of post-translationally modified peptide epitopes, Regulatory T cells in tumour immunity
Prof. Timothy Elliott, Cancer Sciences Division

Prof. John H. Kehrl, Head, B-Cell Molecular Immunology Section, National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases.
A major accomplishment of the B-Cell Molecular Immunology Section (BCMIS) was the identification of a family of proteins that regulate heterotrimeric G-protein signaling, which have been termed RGS proteins.
John H. Kehrl, M.D. Laboratory of Immunoregulation, NIAID, NIH

For more info on hotel, please see the  Parc Hotel website

The Conference itself will be run along similar lines to last year's, although there will be some alterations. The conference will include three poster sessions, which will be the core of the meeting and an ideal forum for discussion and appraisal of progress in the ongoing 20 Work Packages plus the four new Work Packages. There will not be a formal presentation of each poster but the PI or Researcher to whom the poster belongs in each session should remain nearby to answer any questions. We hope this will encourage a more relaxed and stimulating atmosphere for the exchange of ideas and comments.

The poster sessions will be interspersed with three overviews sessions introduced by PIs/Researchers as appropriate. These will be highlighting the developments made in the ongoing extended & merged Work Packages as well as detailing the four new work packages. Work Packages discussed during the presentations will have their poster displayed in the preceding poster session (wherever possible).

The idea of this meeting is that the LICs, PIs & Researchers involved in all the current Work Packages in this NoE should attend this meeting to get together to discuss their progress. The first MAIN Annual Conference took place at San Raffaele Dibit, Milan (Sept. 30th- October 2nd, 2005) & was very successful.

On the final day of the Conference there will be a joint meeting of the Steering Committee (comprising all Local Institutional Coordinators), the External Advisory Board and the External Reviewer to discuss current problems and future plans. This will take place immediately after lunch & not last more than two hours. For all those not involved in the post-lunch meeting, the Conference will effectively finish at lunchtime on Sunday, 8th October.
