Nationals of Italy are excluded as are other EU citizens who have resided in Italy for 12 months during the last two years. The objective of the work will consist in the identification of novel targets and therapeutic approaches in chronic inflammatory diseases using animal models. The fellow should have a strong background and interest in models of inflammatory diseases, cellular and molecular immunology. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to carry out independent research while being an effective teamplayer. More information on this position can be found at: http://www.euro-ra.de

Postdoctoral Position in Human Immunology
Job Description:
Current research activities deal with topics within human immunology and are focused on the interrelation between the localization and tissue distribution of leukocytes and their function in innate and adaptive immunity. The current working paradigm predicts that molecular cues on leukocytes, such as adhesion and chemokine receptors, predetermine leukocyte differentiation and inflammatory responses. The open position is funded by an EU Research Program for work within the areas of skin immunity, antigen-presentation and vaccination. The research group is strongly engaged in local and international collaborations and participates in several research networks. -------- Experimental experience in immunology, including cell isolation, tissue culture and flow cytometry, is mandatory. The present position fits a person who wishes to persue a career in immunology and biomedical research. -------- Please send your CV, including research interests and list of publications, and three letters of recommendations to the address below.

Research Technician in the Vascular Science Section of the National Heart and Lung Di
Job Description:
Applications are invited for the position of Research Technician in the Vascular Science Section of the National Heart and Lung Division, within the Imperial College Faculty of Medicine based at the Hammersmith Campus located in East Acton. We are seeking an effective and motivated individual to join an intensely collaborative team of scientists interested in vascular biology and disease who are researching the role of junctional adhesion molecules, particularly ICAM-2, in angiogenesis (Huang et al Blood 106(5):1636-43, 2005). The project will involve cellular and molecular biology techniques, including developing cell lines and DNA constructs. The position also involves sharing responsibility for the routine management of the laboratory and for the daily maintenance of a Zeiss confocal microscope. Applicants should have experience in tissue culture and molecular biology and some experience in confocal microscopy would be desirable. The post will require collaborating with other groups within and outside the department. Closing date: 3 April 2006 Valuing diversity and committed to equality of opportunity

Post Doctoral Research Associate in the Vascular Science Section of the National Hear
Job Description:
Applications are invited for the position of Post Doctoral Research Associate, in the Vascular Science Section of the National Heart and Lung Division, within the Imperial College Faculty of Medicine based at the Hammersmith Campus located in East Acton. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join an intensely collaborative team of basic and translational research scientists interested in vascular biology and disease. The aim of the project is to characterise a new angiogenesis pathway we recently described (Huang et al Blood 106(5):1636-43, 2005), involving the junctional adhesion molecule ICAM-2 and the small GTPase Rac. The project will require the use of molecular, biochemical and cell biology techniques including siRNA, retroviral vectors and confocal microscopy. Applicants should have experience in cellular and molecular biology with experience in endothelial cell biology, signalling and/or angiogenesis being desirable. The post will require collaborating with other groups within and outside the department. Closing date: 3 April 2006 Valuing diversity and committed to equality of opportunity
